How to Dress for an
Interview
It is doubtful that anyone ever got a job because of the way they
were dressed. However it is quite certain that many people failed
to get
jobs because of their clothes, These are some essential guidelines
that we have put together.
Before the Interview
Try to do as much background “homework” on the company
as you can. It will reaIly impress the interviewer if you know a
little bit a about the company, what business they are in, how big
they are, who their competition is which can be achieved by calling
up and asking for information or try searching for them on the internet!
It’s always advisable a day or two before the interview to
find out exactly where your interview will be held, be sure you have
an accurate map, find out where you will need to park. To be sure
about traveling time it is
always best to do a trial run the day before to check how long it
will take to get there. In rush hour it can double your travel time
so do take this into account.
How to dress for an interview
It is advisable for ladies to wear business suits — trousers
or skirt. Plain blouse or shirt, crisply ironed, Keep jewellery to
a minimum. Clean, unscuffed shoes, Try to wear tights/stockings even
in summer.
For gentlemen business suit, shirt and tie is always advisable,
What to take to an interview
Always take a copy of your
Cv with you. This may be useful as a reference document for your
interview.
Take along any company information you have found as this will look
impressive and will clearly look like you have done your homework
Also take a note pad and pencil/pen to make any notes if necessary
and to write down any questions that you may have to ask the interviewer.

in doubt be conservative.
